Day 8

06/03/2012 21:59

Well we finally made it to Montana, after a 12 hour drive.  Thank you for all the prayers. We got started about 9 am after sleeping in an icebox because our oldest child decided we needed to sleep in 62 degree weather in the hotel room.  Everyone did well on the drive and we are all still speaking and no one got hurt. Finishing out SD seemed long to us but we have learned that the state of MT is VERY LARGE and Helena is on the west side.  We got to go through a tip of Wyoming and we were tempted to go see the Devil's Tower national Monument but decided that we needed to stay on track for the day.  Again the scenes were beautiful. The further we got into MT the more we started to see the Rocky Mountains that are still snow capped.  Along with the animals Christina alerted us that she was sure she saw an indian.  Some of the scenes did look like an old western where the indians surrounded the towns up on the cliffs.  It was also a very windy drive and we had a decent amount of rain. Of course, Christina asked about a million times how close we were to Helena.

Once we got here everyone was thrilled with our new diggs for the summer.  In fact, they are so thrilled that Caleb did some somersaults across the living room and Rebecca/Sarah started doing races down the halls.  They also immediately started exploring the land around the house at 9:30 pm. (the Durfields would be proud)

Sorry for the late post it has taken until now to get our internet working.
