Day 42 - The Lord is good
After the exciting LATE night watching fireworks the kids actually didn't sleep in like I thought they might. Therefore, we all were very tired!! Tony woke today having a pain in his right side. He looked up appendicitis and we thought - today we may be looking for a doctor! We prayed and thankfully when he got to work the pain subsided some . He decided not to rush to the doctor at 8 am. Thank you Lord! I was having visions of him having surgery etc.... The Lord is good and his love endures forever.
We have been considering going camping this weekend but when Tony woke with the pain we decided , of course, to wait to see how he is. We will continue to play it by ear Friday. The kids are really wanting to camp! However, if we are not able to have a campfire due to the threat of wildfires starting the boys will really be disappointed.
I decided the kids were too tired to try to play Risk without some kids actually hurting one another. Poor Christina on Wed. morning when they all played got her feelings hurt about being "attacked". She kept saying "You are breaking my heart!" when someone would start a war with her. The game board is a map of the world and each player tries to take over country by country by "attacking" another player's country. The "war" is a roll of dice to see who gets the higher number. So instead of Risk the kids watched the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean movie and Christina watched a different movie. I found a long nap to be the best use of my time! :)
Another thing we are enjoying here besides all the outdoor stuff is a few cooking shows. The older kids found Chopped at night and we got to watch a couple episodes of that today too. I really like to watch a cooking show now and then but never do in MS because we don't get those channels anymore. I think we may even have our own Franklin Chopped event in August. Rebecca thinks we should try it at the end of Aug. when we are trying to get rid of food before we head home.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise! His Greatness I cannot fathom. I am loving the cool evening temps here and sitting outside reading or talking with Tony in the daylight! Very strange to have it be light so late.
