Day 11 - Exploring Town
Today was a day of exploring town for Gretchen and the kids. They were able to venture into the Metropolis of downtown Helena in search of a famous Carousel that is here (and an adjoining ice cream shop). When they got there it it is apparently closed on Tuesdays and so is the ice cream shop. The trip was not all a loss because in that same area is the Helena Science Museum. They ventured in and Gretchen inquired as to the cost and the lady said "Its Free Day". Apparently the first Tuesday of the month is a free day. Isn't God awesome!!! It turned out to be a small science museum but pretty good. Caleb met a boy there named Malaki who is homeschooled. Their family comes to town once a week. Again how awesome God is. It turns out that he and his family travel to Helena from their town (which is 1 hour away) for church each week as well. Gretchen is checking out their church website to see what it is all about.
The boys continued exploring today in the woods behind the house and stumbled across either a deer or an antelope. Rebecca is spending her days studying for the ACT which she takes on Saturday at Carroll College here in Helena. The other girls continued work on their violin lessons.
Unfortunately for me it was a long day at the office starting at 6 am and ending around 7 pm. However, it is such a blessing to come home to the family and not an empty hotel room. In one of the hymns or songs there is a phrase about "the deer and the antelope play". We got to experience that first hand this evening. As we were sitting around talking in the living room and the sun was going down we looked out the window and there in the yard were 5-7 deer/antelope hopping and playing around. This of course drew Caleb out with his camera to take a bunch of pictures which we will upload to the site today.
